Two key features of the CatOx System are modularity and redundancy and these features are embodied by one of our main components, the Modular Catalyst Cell Unit (MCCU). Each MCCU is a completely functional catalytic oxidizer, and multiple MCCU’s are manifolded together at the inlet and outlet as part of a cohesive system. CatOx MCCU systems are designed and sized to be operable with one MCCU isolated from the system, allowing maintenance and repairs to be performed incrementally, without plant shutdown and the consequent loss of production.
MCCUs are stackable (up to 3 levels high), with integral hard points for both lifting and interlocking. Each MCCU frame is sized as equivalent to a 20’ HC shipping container (20’L x 8’W x 9’6”H), giving many options for equipment orientation as the MCCUs can be arranged side-by-side or end-to-end, allowing accommodation of most client spatial considerations.
Another essential CatOx System component is our Vapor Extraction EtO Buffer System (VEEBS). Each VEEBS tank receives vacuum pump emissions from one individual sterilization chamber, temporarily holding EtO in aqueous solution until the liquid EtO concentration is higher than EtO concentration in the process gas bubbling through. Each VEEBS module is also capable of treatment/elimination of accumulated client vacuum pump moisture via tank headspace water vapor/EtO extraction.
